OFFICE ROOM UPDATE
The homeowner's first floor office was functional but ordinary and nondescript. More importantly, it didn't look like a separate work space but rather an extension of the house. Throwing furniture together with leftover accent pieces just didn't cut it. This is a place where countless hours are spent and deserved the same type of design attention as any other room in the house. Essentially, a home office should be a calm, distraction-free environment, where one goes to be a professional - no different than being employed in a place of business. Our goal was to remove the blur between home and office by infusing a masculine, modern vibe. We decluttered the space, painted the room a dark cool gray, and accented with sophisticated accessories. A built-in bench was constructed, topped with a custom-made cushion that replaced a tired sofa and created a streamlined setting to conduct business.
